Fundamentally, they transformed an image of compassion into a symbol of hate who endorses specifically the brutality that he denounced in biblical teachings; this change developed more gradually, across decades rather than months, yet it remains disturbing through similar means, a disorienting gut punch for numerous individuals.
A Damaging Christianity Takes Hold

In the 1950s it was restrained via weakening – Protestantism was so prevalent that it basically baptized the status quo.
A Conflict for the Best of Us
So I have been encouraged to observe the determined opposition against Trump develop over the last twelve months.
