Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Fighters Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and dark forces increasing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.

This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.

The antagonist then cleared his obligations and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
  • The adventurer has experience in the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • However, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The cleric turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.

Future Episodes

From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Questers and Schemers groups.

Audiences can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
